Event management gency drp is set to raise money for industry charity Meetings Industry Meeting Needs (MIMN) with a gruelling cross-country challenge.

The firm’s technical services and production team has launched the Great Rickshaw Rally, which will see the team aim to raise £5,000 for MIMN by cycling the 130 miles from drp’s Covent Garden office to its Midlands facilities in Hartlebury.

The Great Rickshaw Rally is one of 35 corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects that drp has promised to carry out as part of the firm’s 35th anniversary celebrations.

Steve Pamplin head of technical services at drp, said: “Our 35th anniversary has seen teams across drp inspired to support a wide range of projects, but we’re thrilled to be supporting MIMN. This charity truly is a cause for our industry.

“With so many supporters, sponsors and donors from the UK’s best agencies, venues, DMCs and suppliers, we hope that everyone will get behind the team during this gruelling challenge and support a hugely worthwhile cause in MIMN. It won’t be easy to get through 130 miles on our own refurbished rickshaw but I’m sure that with a little help and encouragement from the industry at large we’ll get there in no time.”

Shonali Rodrigues, director of development at MIMN, said: “It’s wonderful to be able to work with drp in their 35th year and thank them for their continued support as a long-term charity partner of MIMN. During this fabulous fundraising initiative, the Great Rickshaw Rally; we hope to raise £5,000 for worthy causes by encouraging our industry partners to donate through the Great Rickshaw Rally BTMyDonate page.”
